State control over protection of atmospheric air is aimed at observance by legal and natural persons of the legislative requirements in the sphere of protection of atmospheric air for the purpose of improvement of quality of atmospheric air and prevention on negative impact thereof on human health and environment. The Ministry of Natural Resources and its territorial branches are authorized to carry out the aforesaid control. The Ministry and its territorial branches shall ensure control over observance of standards and requirements for the protection of atmospheric air, rates of emissions of hazardous substances into atmosphere, observance of the conclusions of environmental audit, registration of sources of negative impact upon atmosphere and availability of conformity certificates for fuel substantiating its compliance with the requirements of the protection of atmospheric air.
