This Act aims to increase the role of agriculture in environmental preservation, reduce environmental pollution caused by agriculture, and foster farmers who practice environment-friendly agriculture.; The Minister for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries shall formulate fosterage plans to foster environment-friendly agriculture. The State and local governments shall also promote the implementation of policies on compliance with standards to prevent environmental pollution and of policies to preserve agricultural resources, including farmland, agricultural water, and air, and improve the agricultural environment, including soil and quality of water.; The Act classifies environmental-friendly agriculture products into organically grown and pesticide-free agricultural products. The Minister for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries shall certify agricultural products as environmental-friendly agriculture products to foster environment-friendly agriculture and protect consumers. Procedures and requirements for obtaining certification are set out in the text.; The Act further provides for: establishment of the Council for Environmental-Friendly Agricultural Materials to deliberate on matters concerning standards of, and the terms of use of, environmental-friendly agriculture materials; the exchange and sharing of information and technology concerning environmental-friendly agriculture through international cooperation; penalties; etc.
