Law on waste management.

The purpose of this Act is to establish measures to protect the environment and human health by preventing or reducing the harmful effects of waste generation and management. It also aims to reduce the overall impact of resource use and improve the efficiency of that use. The text comprises 55 articles divided into 9 chapters as follows: Purpose, Scope, Competences and Definitions (I); General principles and objectives of waste management (II); Responsibilities (III); Provisions relating to certain waste streams (IV); Authorizations and Registrations (V); Records and Reports (VI); Plans and Programs (VII); Prohibitions, controls and sanctions (VIII); Final Provisions (IX). Five annexes are attached .; In addition, the law amends, inter alia, 1) the law of 31 May 1999 establishing an environmental protection fund; 2) the law of 25 March 2005 on the operation and financing of the SuperDrecksKëscht share; 3) the law of 19 December 2008 a) on batteries and accumulators as well as waste batteries and accumulators b) amending the amended law of 17 June 1994 on the prevention and management of waste.
