National Environmental (Protection and Quality) Regulations (No. 1 of 2008).
These Regulations provide for industrial pollution control through environmental protection licensing schemes.; Wastes which may cause pollution or cause noise pollution may be discharged, deposited or emitted only under the authority of an Environmental Protection Licence issued by the Central Environmental Authority, and in accordance with the standards and criteria specified in Schedule I attached to these Regulations. Licences are also compulsory for any person involved in the management of scheduled waste as specified in Schedule VIII.; The Regulations further provide for: requirements and procedures for obtaining a licence; licensing fees; duties of licensees; licence application forms; etc.
