This Act provides for the management of water resources; under article 1, the aim of the Act is to preserve water resources, to plan their use and handling, to protect water quality and to arrange protection against flooding and at the same time preserve the nature, recreation, shipping and other important interests of society. The Act consists of 50 articles and is divided in the following parts: preliminary provisions, handling the water, protection of water, groundwater and supplying citizens with water, water flows and their administration, limiting of the rights for immovable properties, water management works, protection against flooding, compensation on water management, fines, transitional and final provisions.
