Environmental Quality (Control of Petrol and Diesel Properties) Regulations, 2007.

These Regulations provide for the control of petrol and diesel properties in order to improve air quality. Fuel which is produced, stored, distributed, transported, supplied, sold or offered for sale within Malaysia must comply with the standard of properties as prescribed in the relevant Schedules to the Regulations. The Regulations apply to fuel used in any internal combustion engine (mobile and stationary applications) and in industrial plants. The Regulations further provide for: powers of the Director General or any authorized officer to investigate, inspect and take samples of any fuel; sampling and testing methods as prescribed in the Schedules; sampling and record keeping by fuel suppliers; requirements for quality management system; compounding of offences; etc.
