Immission Protection Act - Air.

A basic piece of legislation to curb air pollution. The purpose of this Act is to protect human beings, animals and plants, the soil, water, the atmosphere as well as cultural assets against harmful effects on the environment. At the outset the Act contains a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed such as, for exemple, “harmful substances”, “immission”, “emission”, “threshold values”. The text consists of 33 articles divided into 9 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Monitoring of immissions (2); Exceeding immission limits; (3); Safety measures (4); Enforcement of safety measures (5); Cautionary measures, duty to notify, monitoring (6); Heating systems (7); Emissions exceeding limit values (8); Final and transitional provisions (9). Five Annexes are enclosed.
