This Act applies to environmental damages caused by pollution of air, water, soil or subsoil as part of a commercial or public activity listed in Appendix to this document (also disturbance by noise, vibration or similar), which may cause loss of financial and cost amounts and therefore requiring compensations. The Act’s provisions do not limit compensation to injured parties under the general law of tort, contract, or under the rules laid down in or pursuant to other legislations. The Act does not apply to damages covered by Act No. 332 of 19 June 1974 on compensation for nuclear damage.
