Subchapter I of Chapter 4 of Title 26 of the Pohnpei State Code - Pohnpei Watershed Forest Reserve and Mangrove Protection Act of 1987.
The objects of this Act are: to create, and provide for the protection and maintenance of, an effective watershed forest reserve; to designate and protect important watershed areas; and to provide for the conservation and management of mangrove forests. The watershed forest reserve shall be administered by the Pohnpei Public Lands Trust Board of Trustees. The Act specifies allowed and prohibited uses of the protected area. Use of pesticides and chemicals in the area shall be subject to appropriate environmental review. Cutting of any trees is restricted. The Act further specifies activities prohibited in watershed areas, provides for the future designation of mangrove forests and provides for protection of such forests.
