Decision No. 939/QD-TTg approving the master plan on socio-economic development of the Mekong River delta through 2020.
This Decision approves the master plan on the socio-economic development of the Mekong River delta.; The master plan provides for the development of the Mekong River delta into a national key region for agricultural commodity production and aquaculture and for the development of the marine economy.; The main objectives of the plan include: agricultural, forestry and fisheries development; sustainable development of aquatic resources and protection of the eco-environment; urban space development; development of water supply systems and of irrigation, drainage and wastewater treatment facilities; protection of the ecosystem of coastal protection forests, of national parks and nature reserves; and environmental management and protection.
