This Law provides for the supervision and control of the fertilizer business, for the quality of fertilizers, for the conservation of soil and the environment and for the systematic use of fertilizers by agriculturalists.; The Law consists of 12 Chapters divided into 48 articles.; A Fertilizer Committee shall be established by the Ministry and its duties and functions are outlined in Chapter IV. The Fertilizer Committee shall issue a registration certificate to individuals who intend to carry out production, import or export of fertilizers for commercial purposes (Chapter V). The Myanmar Agriculture Service and the State and Divisional Manager shall issue licences for the compounding, mixing, repackaging or storing business of fertilizer for commercial purpose, and for the distribution and sale of fertilizer in excess of the weight and volume of fertilizer prescribed by the Fertilizer Committee, respectively. Chapter VII provides for the assignment of inspectors and specifies their duties. The remaining Chapters deal with matters related to appeals, prohibitions and penal provisions, and provisions of miscellaneous nature.
