Drinking Water Regulation (Y.O.I.C. 2007/139).

The present Regulation is made under the Public Health and Safety Act. In particular, the Regulation lays down provisions relating to requirements for routine sampling and testing of drinking water. This includes testing for both chemical parameters and bacterial contamination. Part 1 entitled “Large public drinking water systems” deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: application, system maintenance, drinking water protection, contamination of water supply, selection of water source, studies, permit to operate, application and issuance of permits, engineering assessment, annual report, requirements for filtration and disinfection. Part 2 on “Bulk delivery of drinking water” concerns, inter alia, the following issues: application, restriction on use of water delivery truck, application for permit, issuance of permit, operator training, water tank, truck design and equipment, operation and maintenance, chlorination and testing, sampling and analysis, notification and corrective action, record keeping, public information, enforcement. The text consists of 87 sections divided into 2 Parts. Four Schedules are enclosed.
