Regulation No. 365 on utilisation, monitoring and control of sewage sludge and the compost thereof.

These Regulation prescribes the procedures for the utilisation, monitoring and control of sewage sludge and the compost thereof. Sewage sludge is colloidal sediment resulting from the treating of municipal, domestic and industrial sewage in treatment plants, as well as depositions from septic tanks and other similar plants for sewage treatment. Sewage sludge compost is a decomposition product of sewage sludge and various materials of plant origin (peat, leaves, straw, saw dust and other landfill materials) that has been obtained as the result of a human impact on active microbiological activity. The Regulation consists of 12 Sections that contain 102 issues. Section 1 (issues 1-4) lays down general provisions. Section 2 (issues 5-14) regards determination of quality of sewage sludge and the compost thereof. Section 3 (issues 15-23) regards temporary storage of sewage sludge and the compost thereof at a place of utilisation. Section 4 (issues 24-47) regards utilisation of sewage sludge and the compost thereof for soil fertilization of agricultural lands. Section 5 (issues 48-61) regards utilisation of sewage sludge compost in forestry. Section 6 (issues 62-70) regards utilisation of sewage sludge and the compost thereof for greening of territories. Section 7 (issues 71-83) regards utilisation of sewage sludge and the compost thereof for recovery of degraded areas. Section 8 (issues 84-90) regards utilisation and burial of sewage sludge and the compost thereof in municipal waste landfill sites and dumps. Section 9 (issues 91-95) regards environmental monitoring of utilisation of sewage sludge and the compost thereof. Section 10 (issues 96-100) regards records of produced mass, quality and utilisation of sewage sludge. Section 11 (issue 101) regards control. Section 12 (issue 102) lays down closing provisions.
