This Resolution approves the classification of the marine-coastal water body, which should be considered as a mandatory reference for the National Environmental Quality Standards for Water (ECA - Water) of the environmental management instruments of the projects to be developed with influence on the body of marine - coastal water. The methodology of the classification of the marine-coastal water body is established by technical criteria defined by the prioritization of natural spaces, uses and activities in the marine-coastal area, in order to preserve the quality of the water. The uses and activities are integrated and represented in maps through geographic information systems (GIS) and through processes that identify, group, delimit and code classified areas, prior to a detailed analysis of the information database.
