Addl Financing - Kenya Water Security and Climate Resilience Project

The objective of the project is to improve the water security and climate resilience of Kenya’s population and economy. This objective is aligned with the strategic goal of the International Development Association (IDA), which is to support countries in their efforts to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity. It aims to improve the water quality and reduce the pollution of water resources, which can be affected by nitrogen runoff from agricultural activities, wastewater discharge, and industrial effluents. Second, it supports the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices, such as conservation agriculture, agroforestry, and integrated soil fertility management, which can enhance the nitrogen use efficiency and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from nitrogen fertilizers.
