Banda Gas to Power Guarantee

The project objective was to mobilize private funding and mitigate the risks associated with the development of the Banda gas field and the construction of a power plant and a transmission line to supply electricity to Mauritania and Senegal. One of the benefits of the project was that it will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including nitrogen oxides (NOx), by replacing diesel and heavy fuel oil with natural gas for power generation.
