Coastal Cities Pollution Control

The project improved the delivery of efficient and sustainable wastewater services in coastal municipalities that are taking part in the initiative, to decrease the nutrient load entering Croatian coastal waters (the Adriatic Sea), and to pilot innovative wastewater treatment solutions in a subset of these municipalities. Municipal wastewater sources discharging into the Mediterranean Sea and into inflowing rivers must reduce their organic and nutrient (phosphorus and nitrogen) emissions if this is to be achieved.
