GEF Romania Integrated Nutrient Pollution Control Project

The objective of the project is to help the Romanian government comply with the European Union's Nitrates Directive by doing the following:
- Decreasing nutrient discharges to water bodies
- Encouraging behavioural change at the commune level; and
- Bolstering institutional and regulatory capability.
The project supports the implementation of the EU Nitrates Directive, which is a legal framework to protect water quality from nitrate pollution from agricultural sources.
