This Act provides for the establishment of the National Tea and Coffee Development Board to formulate plans and policies for the development of tea and coffee at the national level and to strengthen the public, private and the small sectors involved in the tea and coffee industry.; The Act defines the Board’s composition and specifies its powers and functions which include: to formulate and implement policies related to coffee production, processing, export, import, marketing and research and development; advise the government on tea and coffee prices; recommend, for necessary loans for pesticides, chemical fertilizers, agricultural equipment and fuel necessary, tea and coffee small scale farmers; do such study works as may be necessary for the development and expansion of the tea and coffee industry in Nepal; and maintain an inventory of the registration of tea and coffee industries.; The Act further provides for: formation of an executive committee and its powers and functions; fund of the Board; accounts and audit of the Board; etc.
