Environmental Protection Act (R.S.N.W.T. (Nu.) 1988, c. E-7).

This Act provides for the protection of the environment in Nunavut. It consists of 34 sections and is divided into the following parts: Interpretation, Application, Administration, Environment protection, Discharge of contaminants, unsightly land, By-laws, Permits and licences, Powers of inspectors, Voluntary reporting, Offences and punishment, Other remedies and Regulations. The Act contains provisions on emergency measures (sect. 5) and on all legislative and administrative issues related to licences and permits.
