Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board Act, 1978 (No. 18 of 1979).
This Act provides for the establishment of a Water Supply and Sewerage Board and details the duties, powers and functions of the Board. The Act establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Board and mentions the manner in which the Board has control over the water supply in the State. In particular, its powers include: a) inspection of water supply and sewerage facilities; b) obtain information from any local body; c) provide training for personnel; d) prepare and carry out schemes for water supply and sewerage; e) lay down the schedule of fees and other charges for all kinds of services rendered by the Board to the State Government, local bodies, institutions or individuals, etc.
