Ministerial Decree No. 590 of 1984 concerning agricultural fertilizers.
This Decree is composed of 24 articles, and 3 annexes. It is concerned with the licensing, trade and registration of fertilizers, and provides for the procedural matters for the latter. The trade of fertilizers is limited only to the species listed in Annex 1 after being registered in the Ministry of Agriculture, while the ones in tables D and E from the same annex are exempted from this registration. Registration requests are submitted to the Agricultural Research Center along with a sample to conduct analyzes and tests. This Decree prohibits the manufacture of the fertilizers or its trade without a license, as well as the transportation of subsidized fertilizers.
