Public Health Act (Cap. 14.01).
This Act defines powers of the Minister, the Governor in Council and Public Health Inspectors in matters relating to public health in Montserrat. The Minister shall be responsible for the administration of this Act and may delegate functions to the Public Health Advisory Board, which shall be appointed by the Governor in Council under this Act. Matters that may be subject to regulation by the Governor in Council include: purity of water supply; collection and disposal of waste; prevention of (sanitary) nuisance; the slaughtering of animals; the prevention of communicable diseases; the production and handling of food intended for human consumption; the importation of food and the designation of places from which food may not be imported.
