This Act makes provision for giving in concession of certain public functions of the collection and treatment of wastewater. The Act empowers the Governor in Cabinet to grant, after having sought the advice of the Water Authority, concessions, i.e. any instrument whereby the Governor in Cabinet grants a right or privilege enabling a person to collect, convey and treat wastewater under this Law. It defines duties and powers of a concessionaire towards customers and establishes a Compensation Assessment Tribunal, whose function shall be to assess and award compensation claimed as a result of the collection, conveyance and treatment of wastewater under this Law. The Act also sets out regulation-making powers of the Governor in Cabinet for purposes of this Law.
