Air Pollution Act, 1987 (No. 6 of 1987).
This Act makes provision for measures for the prevention or reduction of air pollution in Northern Ireland. The Act concerns, among other things, obligations to prevent or to reduce air pollution, powers of competent authorities, licensing of industrial plants, air quality management plans and standards, monitoring of air quality and emissions, the keeping of registers by local authorities, declaration of special control areas by local authorities and research into air pollution.
