This Regulation lays down the requirements regarding the quality of drinking water with the purpose of protecting public health from contamination risks while ensuring that drinking water is healthy and clean. The quality control is carried out through inspection and internal and external monitoring.; The Regulation includes the following Annexes: I- quality requirements for drinking water-parameters, indicators, and methods of analysis; II- monitoring; III- specifications for the analysis of parameters; IV- hydro-sanitary requirements for drinking water wells; V- quality requirements for surface waters used for production of drinking water; VI- sanitary protection; VII- disinfection of various objects found in drinking water supply works; VIII- technical and hygiene-sanitary requirements for the auto trucks; IX- disinfection of drinking water; X- Maintenance of drinking water works.; The Regulation is partially approximated with EC directive 98/83/EC on the quality of water intended for human consumption.
