Law No. 7.392 establishing Plant Sanitary Protection within the State of Pará.

This Law, consisting of 16 Chapters, establishes Plant Sanitary Protection within the State of Pará. It specifies the sanitary requirements to be satisfied in order to perform plant protection, defines the objectives, prescribes offences and penalties for illegal activities and establishes the actions to be taken in order to perform the above mentioned Plant Sanitary Protection. It also establishes competent State Agency to protect agricultural products in the State, so called ADEPARÁ, organization created by State Law No. 6.482. This Plant Sanitary Protection aims at: contributing to increase agricultural production and productivity; at protecting and preserve plant health; at guaranteeing the classification of plant products in nature, semi or minimally processed, processed and industrialized, their sub-products, derivatives and waste with an economic value according to their State or Federal identity and quality standards; at guaranteeing identity and quality of hygiene-sanitary safety, technological and phytosanitary patterns, and derivates from the timber exploitation; etc.
