The purpose of the Law is to establish the basic policy for the preservation of lake water quality and formulate the plan regarding the measures to be taken for the preservation of water quality of such lakes where it is important to establish an environmental standard for pollution and water quality control. Measures will be taken to facilitate discharging of polluted water, waste liquids and other substances causing pollution of water. In terms of Article 3 of the Law, the Minister will designate certain lakes, designated lakes, which have not fulfilled the water quality standards and for which is considered necessary to implement special measures to maintain the water quality. The governor will also establish special standards for the preservation of Lake Water quality (Article 7) and for the preservation of water from waste discharge from industrial facilities.
