DBSB: Agricultural Pollution Control Project - under WB-GEF Strategic Partnership for Nutrient Reduction in the Danube River and Black Sea

Funder/Donor

Global Environment Facility

Overview

The primary goal of the project was to implement integrated land and water management to decrease the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus being released into the Danube River and the Black Sea. The aim was to encourage environmentally sound agricultural practises and restore sections of the former floodplain areas along the lower Danube River, both of which will cut down on nutrient runoff and reap significant benefits for the Danube and the Black Sea.
