Overview
This project aims to initiate a long-term plan for the capital of Kyrgyz Republic to become energy secure, better place for living in term of air and health quality and ultimately contribute to climate change mitigations through critical improvements specific in the transport sector in Bishkek. The project plans for zero tailpipe-emission transport sector by engaging to upgrade capital city’s bus fleet to zero-emission tailpipe; work on capital’s public buses operation sustainability; and upgrade the buses depot infrastructure. Technological innovation will be used to improve the efficiency and stability of the power system for use of vehicles and bus fleets, reduce use of fossil fuel and thus reduced country’s reliance on fossil fuel and contribute to a safer and healthier public transport system that prioritizes environmentally friendly modes of transport, better public health and gender equality.
